What is an IP-Core ?

An IP (Intellectual Property) Core is a block of logic ready to be integrated into an FPGA or ASIC design. It has become more and more common to reuse designs, since it results in shorter deveolpment time. Ususally the IP-Cores are delivered as Netlists or RTL code.
