Radio modems transmit wireless data between two units over distances
varying from 10 yards up to 30 miles. All communication is transmitted
in plain text and by using a receiver in the same area all
communication can easily be intercepted without leaving any traces.
Without any measures for identification (authentication) it is also
easy to deceive the receiver by appearing as a real and authorized user
and then send false information right into the system.
