Security Risks with Radio Modem Communications |
|
Radio modems transmit wireless data between two units over distances
varying from 10 yards up to 30 miles. All communication is transmitted
in plain text and by using a receiver in the same area all
communication can easily be intercepted without leaving any traces.
Without any measures for identification (authentication) it is also
easy to deceive the receiver by appearing as a real and authorized user
and then send false information right into the system.

This means that an attack on your operations is very easy to initiate
and the consequences can be large and result in a costly disruption.
According to a research team at British Columbia Institute of
Technology the attacks within this technology segment is estimated to
have increased tenfold during the last five years. Read more.
Cryptango™ Security Module provides a very strong extra protection for communication using radio modems. Read more.
