Do you know what risks your M2M communication links are actually exposed to? Maybe you think that nobody is really interested in your data, since it is of a quite technical nature. No one could really be interested in these data. But yet you may feel a kind of uncertainty.

If the traffic is only wiretapped the damages could probably be limited, but what happens if your data is manipulated and you get corrupted data into your systems? So called "man-in-the-middle" attacks are not particulary difficult to perform by using the technology available today. If you send the data over air by using GSM, GPRS och radio modem you do not even know where the attacks are coming from. Suddenly your operations could be interrupted or even stopped. As always when it comes to insurances, one usually waits until it is too late. First then you realize the value, but it is far better to be proactive than reactive.
